Valley Lodge Property Owners Association, Inc.
2024 Annual Meeting
Candidate Profiles

Jay Gootee

– My name is Jay Gootee.
I have lived in Valley Lodge at 420 Fort bend Dr. with my wife Stacey, daughter Alyson, son Adam, 7-year-old
granddaughter Carline and (Valentines baby) Taliah for 20+ years and hope to live here for many more enjoyable years.
In that 20 years I have enjoyed living here and making new friends throughout the community and town. I have enjoyed
giving back to the community and helping friends and neighbors with whatever I can to the best of my ability. I was
elected on to the HOA board in 2018 and currently a director. I’m very passionate about the community and our
neighborhood. In the five years I’ve served on the Board we have had some ups and downs but have been able to make
positive changes in the neighborhood. I would like to continue to serve on the board to help serve to the best interests of
the residents within the Valley Lodge Community. I hope you consider re-electing me as a board member and my promise
is to keep our neighborhood a wonderful place to live! Additionally, I’ve also had the opportunity to serve on the EOC
(Emergency Operations Committee) and various city functions.
Kind Regards,
Jay Gootee

Jim Ingram

– My name is Jim Ingram. I would like to be added to the POA ballot. I have lived in this community for 30
years. My wife and I own a small business together. I spend 6 years as a manager of a large tool company.

Susan LaDart

– Hello to all property owners, my name is Susan LaDart, and I’m running for a position on the board of
directors for the Property Owners Association. What is a Property Owners Association? It’s defined as a non-profit
organization that consists of homeowners and business owners in a community and the goal is to support and improve the
geographic area. POA’s also have a limited scope of enforcement power but are essential to help to make a positive
impact on a community. Board members are elected by the property owners to represent the community and make
decisions on improving the community with the funds that are paid to the association. I firmly believe that so much can be
done to keep and to improve the quality of this community. The members of the community need to be heard and
decisions made by a board should always represent what most of the community deems important. I have previously
served as President of a POA for a smaller community in Wimberley. I am very well versed in the laws and the amount of
power a Board has in a community and am ready to serve Valley Lodge as your representative.

Thank you,

Susan

Mark Mazaraki

– I grew up in Fulshear since the 1990’s. I am a Husband, Father of two children, degreed engineer from
University of Houston, with 25+ years experience of managing businesses and technical projects. I will be a great asset to
the board because of my knowledge and fundamental understanding of technical things(properties, building, construction,
reading plans, etc…). I will use a common sense approach and govern by our guidelines to make sure the entire
community is served.

Johnny Quarles

– Dear Fellow Valley Lodgers,
I am a long-term resident and homeowner in Valley Lodge.
As a candidate for the HOA board, I am honored to have the opportunity to represent our community’s diverse interests and concerns. I firmly believe in the importance of an effective HOA board in maintaining the beauty, integrity, and functionality of our neighborhood. However, it is equally imperative to recognize and uphold the fundamental rights of property owners, including the right to privacy and the free and unrestricted use of their properties. While the HOA board plays a crucial role in enforcing rules and regulations, it must do so with sensitivity and respect for individual liberties.
If elected, I am committed to striking a balance between the needs of the community and the rights of individual homeowners. I will advocate for transparent and fair decision-making processes that take into account the diverse perspectives within our neighborhood.
Together, we can work towards a harmonious and thriving community where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued. I humbly ask for your support and trust as we embark on this journey together. Thank you for considering me as your representative on the HOA board.

Warm regards,
Johnny Quarles
